Sustainable Design Standards
The plan envisions that all buildings will be designed with environmental considerations in mind including designs to maximize energy performance, natural day-lighting, passive solar orientation, and natural ventilation. The typical roof shall be flat with a minimum pitch for drainage with an accented cornice and/or decorative parapet. Pitched roofs having a gentle slope will be minimized and shall be used only on buildings four stories or lower or as an occasional accent on taller buildings. Green roofs are encouraged.
